An extract from Wise Traveller: Happiness

I see the road behind me...

Happy those at the bus stop in the rain, for they are on the route to heaven.

Happy those who hug the unhappy, for their hugs are a special currency.

Happy the schoolchildren dancing in puddles, for their splashes delight the aged.

Happy the fast-food avoiders, for they will be filled.
Happy the generous drivers, for they will enjoy satisfying journeys.

Happy the street buskers and Big Issue sellers, for their sight is true.

Happy the righteous banner-wavers and hippy nuclear-ship hammerers, for their innocence will be rewarded.

Happy those who stop the school yard fight, for the secret of life is theirs.

Happy the despised and ridiculed outsider, for they shall be home free.
